Nolan Crisp Gives Georgia a Solid Relief Pitching Performance to Seecure Series Win Over Jacksonville State
Nolan Crisp made his season debut on Sunday after missing most of last season with an injury. He came in and pitched 3.2 innings and only allowed two hits with no earned runs and five strikeouts. He was credited with the win for the Bulldogs as well.
It was a disappointing end to his season last year so he made sure that he worked hard this off-season to make sure he gets the season he wants to have this year.
After the game yesterday, Nolan gave his thoughts on his performance from the bullpen.
What have you seen from some of these new guys that you got in the bullpen right now?
“We have a strong new freshman class and a couple of good transfers that threw a bunch this weekend and did a good job.”
How good did it feel to get back out there after how last season ended for you?
“It was my first outing back in a game on the mound since the injury. It felt good to be back out there today feeling 100%.”
To have that kind of performance to open the season what do you think is ahead for you?
“That’s to be determined, whenever I get the ball I need to throw strikes and get the outs.”
It will be interesting to see if Crisp ends up staying in the bullpen for a little bit longer this season after the performance he had from the pen. Or will he be moved back up to the normal Sunday or mid-week starter?
