Huge Visits Set to Take Place in Athens This Weekend
Kirby Smart has another talented group of visitors on campus this weekend that he needs to impress.
It has become a regular occurrence for Kirby Smart to host these massive recruiting weekends throughout the year. This weekend is no different. There will be a handful of talented players in the classic city this weekend.
It starts with two wide receivers which are currently committed to the Bulldogs and will make their return trip to Athens to help recruit their fellow recruits. Sacovie White and Ny Carr will both be in the classic city giving their assistance in the recruiting game.
Offensive Firepower taking over the campus:
This weekend is headlined by the number 1 overall quarterback and player in the class of 2024 Dylan Raiola. He will be making a return visit to Athens and that is bringing a lot of other offensive talents on campus. Ryan Wingo is one of the most sought-after receivers in the entire country. He has been feeling the love from Bryan McClendon and this Bulldogs staff lately. Tennessee is also a big factor in this one. Caleb Odom will also be another hot name on campus. He is a 6’5 tight end and plays for Carrolton High School. Odom tore it up in the State Championship game last year against the Walton Raiders. That was when he really made a name for himself. He currently does not hold an offer from Georgia just yet, but I expect him to leave campus with one this weekend. One of the top offensive linemen in the country Daniel Calhoun will be in town. Calhoun is being heavily recruited by Georgia, Alabama, and Clemson. He is fresh off a visit to the Clemson Tigers, so Georgia will have to really impress for this visit. He transferred to Walton this year in hopes of bringing the Raiders a state championship.
Defensive Anchors making their way toward the City:
On the defensive side of the ball, it is no different. Just some absolute monsters will be on campus. Jordan Thomas is the defensive lineman that every school is pursuing. Georgia and Notre Dame have been in on him the longest. Someone close to the situation told me that if this UGA visit goes well this weekend, I would watch the Bulldogs very closely with this one. Four-Star DB Xavier Filsaime is one of my favorite players in the class and he is in town this weekend. He is projected as a safety at the next level. Justin Greene four-star defensive lineman will be in attendance as well. He recently started to hear more from Coach Scott and the Dawgs are starting to turn the heat up on him.
There will be a handful of other prospects in town, but these were just the players w could confirm at this time. Check back on this throughout today when we confirm more names.
