Georgia Going To Face a Tough Task as They Take on the Arkansas Razorbacks
The Bulldogs are coming off an embarrassing loss to the at-the-time #1 ranked Alabama Crimson tide with a final score of 108-59.
Georgia (16-11, 6-8 SEC) and Arkansas (18-9, 7-7 SEC) will tip off at 9:00 tonight on SEC Network. In the Razorback’s last game, they blasted the Florida Gators 85-64, ending their two-game losing streak. The Razorbacks have a deadly backcourt duo with Rick Council averaging 16.4 points and Anthony Black averaging 13 points. Georgia will be tasked with keeping them in check and limiting the open looks those two guards get.
Although the record isn’t the prettiest Mike White has done a fine job in his first year as the Bulldog’s head coach. He has the team in a position to get a bid to the NIT tournament. This game is huge for the Bulldogs if they want any shot at getting there. Georgia will not only have to keep eye on the two guards but the Mitchell twins, Makhel and Makhi. Two big body forwards that take up space and are fantastic on the offensive boards. Mike White has mentioned time and time again that the Bulldogs need to do a better job boxing out and securing the rebounds off a missed shot. If there's a game to show that, it’s tonight against the Mitchell brothers.
As for my thoughts on the game tonight, I’m not expecting the Dawgs to come out and pummel the Razorbacks. They are way too talented on the offensive side of the ball. However, if the Dawgs can string some stops together along the way and make their shots of their own I think you could find this game is closer in the fourth quarter than most people think.
