Georgia Basketball: Transfer Target in Athens this week, per report
New UGA Basketball coach Mike White has been tasked with revamping this UGA roster that only won a total of six games last year. White hosted three recruits last weekend, and it looks like he will start out this weekend strong.
Jon Rothstein has reported on his Twitter account that Clemson guard Al-Amir Dawes will be in Athens tomorrow. During the 2021-22 season, Dawes averaged 11.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.Dawes is also a very solid shooter; he connected on 39.8% of his three-point shots last year, and he shot about 85% from the free-throw line.Dawes is a very underrated defender as well. He had about 1 steal per game, and he can defend anyone on the perimeter if he was asked to. That his exactly what Mike White wants in a guard for the Dawgs. He can score and can play defense when needed.New UGA assistant Antonio Reynolds Dean, who previously coached at Clemson, has a good connection with Dawes, and that could play a big factor in this recruitment.
