Coach Smart starting in-home visits with a BANG!

Kirby Smart’s main focus this week is Alabama, but if you know Kirby Smart and his staff you also know that he will always make some room for recruiting. He will send Dan Lanning and Jahmile Addae to make a quick trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Thursday to check in on 2022 4-Star edge rusher Marvin Jones Jr. This will be the only in-home visit that the Dawgs will have this week, but this could be the biggest one they take. The obvious position of need with this 2022 class is a true edge/lb prospect. They want someone who can rush the passer but also hold their own in the run game. MJJ checks both of those boxes. It looks like it would be a tough pull for Kirby and company especially with teams like Alabama, Texas A&M, and Florida State all pushing hard for him as well. This is where Kirby Smart is at best in recruiting. He can interact with not only the recruit but can also build relationships with the family and strengthen relationships with the recruit which in this case is Marvin Jones Jr.
